Reformer Pilates is a great form of strength, postural, flexibility, balance and endurance training.
Reformer Pilates is similar yet very different to mat based Pilates. Reformer Pilates is done using the Pilates reformer machine and is more intense and dynamic than mat based Pilates, providing far more variety to the repertoire of exercises available.
The exercises work muscles through a large range of motion which is ideal for building and toning muscles, as well as increasing stability through the joints. Reformer Pilates works more areas than matwork, and with the use of the machine we can target more specific peripheral muscles of the arms and legs.
Reformer Pilates is an exclusive add on for existing club members only. Please refer to the FAQ for more details.
What is an “Add on” membership?
Add on memberships are exclusive to existing club members. As a member, you will continue to pay your standard weekly rate for your club membership. However, if you choose to take advantage of Reformer Pilates, you will pay an additional $26.95 per week via direct debit. This allows you to attend unlimited classes, booking via our App.
Is this class Beginner Friendly?
Yes! Reformer Pilates is great for beginners and totally open to all levels of experience. At the beginning of class, your instructor will explain the machine and all the different parts including the springs, which is where the resistance comes into play. These springs can be adjusted to increase or decrease resistance. It is recommended to decrease this for beginners.
It’s my first class ever! What do I do?
Make sure you turn up to class 15minutes early so that you can speak to the instructor beforehand and they can take you through how to use the reformer bed and go over any pointers for class.
Can I do Reformer Pilates if pregnant/postnatal?
Pilates is a great way to maintain fitness throughout pregnancy and to rehabilitate after labour. It is vital to consult a physician as to when you may return to exercise after giving birth as the time will vary depending on the nature of the birth. Please make sure you turn up to your first class 15minutes early and speak to the instructor before class begins.
How many Reformer beds are available?
Do I need to bring anything to class?
Please bring a towel & socks, and a water bottle. Pilates socks with grips along the sole are available for purchase in the club.
Do I need to book in for class?
Yes you are required to book for each Reformer class you wish to attend. You can book in via our app, or via the website on the timetable page for Reformer Pilates. Bookings can be made 7 days in advance. Please make sure that you remove yourself from any booked classes you cannot attend with at least 12 hours notice, so that it can free up the spot for others on the waitlist and give them enough time to attend.
What if the class I want to book in for is full?
No problem! Put yourself on the waitlist as there is on average 2-4 people each class that cancel. If you are moved from the waitlist into a class, you will receive an email notification.
Cancellation / No Show Policy
We will be charging a $10.00 late cancellation fee which will apply only to those who do not remove themselves from the booking with 12 hours’ notice. Failure to attend your class will result in a $10 “no show” fee.
Why do you have a Cancellation / No Show Policy?
We would prefer not to apply penalties at all, however experience tells us that without this policy 15% of booked participants do not attend their class, leaving beds empty that would otherwise be available for other members. The policy is to ensure that more members can access more classes, more often. This policy is consistent with other Reformer Pilates studios and is common within the industry.
How do I cancel a booking?
You can cancel the booking via the JF247 App or website booking system. If for some reason you cannot access either of these, please contact the club via 07 3713 3999 during staffed hours and we can cancel it for you. We do not accept cancellations via email.
How do I know if I have been moved from the waitlist to a spot in a class?
You will receive a confirmation email from us Jindalee Fitness 24/7 via firstname.lastname@example.org. We suggest you add this email address to your “Safe Senders” list to ensure it does not end up in your Junk Folder. It is your responsibility to ensure you receive these emails.
What happens if I am on the waitlist and no longer wish to attend a class?
If you are on a waitlist for a class and can no longer attend, then you need to remove yourself from the class. If you are moved to class from the waitlist and cannot attend, then you will need to cancel the booking outside of the 12-hour notice period to avoid a cancellation fee.
What happens if I am booked into a class from the waitlist within the 12-hour notice period and can no longer attend?
If you moved to a class booking from the waitlist within the 12-hour cancellation period and can no longer attend, then you will not be charged the cancellation fee for cancelling the booking. Please cancel your booking so that another member can attend.
What happens if I cannot attend a class on short notice for a reason out of my control. For example, I have woken up feeling ill?
Please cancel your booking so that another member can have the booking. While this is technically a no show or late cancellation, we will of course use discretion. We would not impose a penalty in the case of genuine illness or an emergency. Call on 07 3713 3999 the club as soon as you can to let us know we are aware of the situation and can respond accordingly. Please do not wait until the penalty has been charged.
