Hyrox Exercises

Ski Erg

The first HYROX workout station is 1000m on the Ski Erg. This erg predominantly targets the arm, shoulder & core muscles, however when done efficiently, it also involves muscles in the lower body – making the Ski Erg a full body workout.

Sled Push

The second workout station is 50m of Sled Push. This is one station you do not want to come unprepared for… so make sure you try it out at least once before your race and invest in some grippy shoes! This movement targets the lower body muscles, including the entire posterior chain, core & anterior thigh muscles in particular.

Sled Pull

Get ready to use your glutes, back, biceps & the entire trunk during workout station three – 50m of Sled Pull.

Burpee Broad Jump

Born in 1939, the fourth workout station is a full body workout that is both loved and hated at the same time. Trying these for the first time may feel hard, but many of our regular athletes now consider this station to be one of their favourites!

Rowing

Station number five is the second ergometer in this fitness race. 1000m of rowing marks the beginning of the second half of your HYROX race.

Farmers Carry

For 200m of Farmers Carry, engagement of your upper back muscles, core & grip strength is required. This workout station is easy to practise on your weekly shop…

Sandbag Lunges

10, 20 or 30 kilograms on your back whilst lunging? Welcome to workout station number seven. Primarily targets the thigh and glute muscles, this one is a burner…

Wall balls

The final station… 100 Wall Balls. With the finish line in sight, it’s time to finish your race in style & join the #HYROXFAMILY.

Do I need to have HYROX experience to join?

No experience needed. Our classes are beginner friendly with scaling options for all movements. Coaches will guide you through technique, pacing and modifications.

Are the classes suitable for beginners?

Yes. Every workout has beginner, intermediate and advanced variations. You can go at your own pace while still getting a great workout.

Can I participate if you have an injury or limited mobility?

Absolutely. Coaches can provide regressions or alternative movements so you can still train safely. If you have concerns about an existing injury, we also have highly qualified trainers available for individual sessions where you can book in for an assessment before joining the class.

Can I train for a real HYROX event in these classes?

Definitely. Our Dungeon HYROX classes help prepare you for race day movements, pacing, transitions and solo/partner strategies.

How much running is involved in the Dungeon HYROX classes? What if I can’t run?

Most weeks include some form of running in our Fit and Mini-Simulation classes, as it’s a key part of HYROX style training. However, all running portions can be substituted with low impact options such as our cardio machines or a walk/jog variation. If you’re unable to run due to injury, mobility limitations or preference, coaches will always provide a suitable alternative so you can complete the session safely and effectively.

Do I need to book into Classes in advance?

Yes, Members can book through the Jindalee Fitness app or at reception to secure a spot.

How many sessions per week do I need to do?

We recommend attending 3 minimum classes per week, and no more than 6. We would rather you train with intent in the sessions that you are there, rather than pushing yourself to the limit and burning out in a few weeks.
